Admission Requirements
As the parent, your child qualifies for French schooling if you are a Canadian Citizen and if you fit one of the following criteria as stated in Article 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
your first language learned and still understood is French OR
you received your primary school instruction in French, in Canada OR
one of your children has received or is receiving their primary or secondary school instruction in French in Canada.
Please note:
The French instruction mentioned above must be in French as a first language and not French immersion.
As we are a preschool, la Capucine can only accept children:
who are aged 3 to 5 years
who are fully potty trained
We prioritize families who:
are francophone or franco-dominant OR
have at least one of the parents who speak French fluently OR
have, in the very least, a basic understanding of French.
Please note:
A meeting with one or both parent or rs may be requested as part of the registration procedure.
The Capucine reserves the right to terminale registration if we are unable to meet the specific or additional needs of the child. Though supported by the Francosud school board, we are not guaranteed funding to support children requiring the expertise of language, developmental or behavioral specialists or one-to-one care.
The Capucine equally accomodates non-Canadian francophones.
